My horse fell into our neighbors pond and we have not found him yet. There is about 6 inches of ice on the surface and the pond has a deep spot of about 15-20' It is around 22°- 35° this past week. How long before he might float or fall apart in those temperatures? Thank you!!

I don't know the answer about your horse and I am very very sorry for you, I have been around horses and I know just how precious they are to those who love them! My only view point about death is this fact. This is my first real research about how death affects the human body and I am simply amazed at the many steps involved with the process of the decaying decaying body. Although I do not look forward to death from a pure human perspective, I am looking forward to death for the spiritual benefits and blessings to that death will iniate. The moment the life leaves the body for death, is the very same second that the mortal puts on immortality, forever more. However, this is only true for a real genuine believer in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. To be absent (mortal life) from the body is to be present (immortal life) with the Lord and our Creator God Almighty Himself in Heaven forever more, everlasting life. Now, I am not a full time pastor, but I am a child of the living God and as such I would like everyone who Reade's my words to pleae just consider where you want to be after the body returns to ashes, which as we know, is the ultimate moment in everyone's life that must be faced and resolved. For those who do not know Christ as Lord and Savior, they will spend eternity in hell, torment, and loneliness. Hope you will make the right choice, I look forward to seeing and knowing you in Heaven!!!

@ : All who are good shall be in heaven irrespective of the religion they follow. The one convict who at the cross with Jesus only believed Jesus was innocent, he got saved. The classic debate between Peter and Paul also leads us to believe that all are welcome to he kingdom irrespective of their background or ritual compliance purely based on their being open o Will of God.

Ronald, what i take from your comment is that Christ is a little kid who will get shitty if everyone doesnt want to play with him and do exactly as he says and believes you should and if you dont play his game he condemns you to hell, a torturous burning eternal pit of fiery pain and suffering. He sounds like a selfish little git. youve asked the world to consider, we will. i know i have. but i ask that you consider that its possible that only you are responsible for your own greatness. i dont need the threat of eternal suffering to keep me 'well behaved' im a good person all by myself. i dont believe in god. and i know ill be at peace after death. anywho, this article is about science! :) your faith and hope of others following you do not belong in discussions of science peace

@ : There are two stories - one gruesome and hopeless while the other soothing and hopeul. Which one would you rather believe? Irrespective of the "truth". Life is short why complicate it by proving and challenging what we cannot know for sure? Why cannot we live and let live? Why can't all coexist peacefully giving each their own space and freedom to choose the story they rather believe in? This is not specifically directed at you, it's a question to all here who would like to debate one over the other.

To "Heidi", while this website is indeed meant for scientific discussion, "Ronald" can say what he wants; that's what the comments are FOR, be it scientific knowledge or religious belief. (But I do agree with you that not everybody has to follow Christian belief; where you place your faith should be your own business.) Furthermore, science cannot prove or disprove the existence of God or the holy spirit. I would also work on my spelling and grammar, if I were you. P.S. Jesus was not a brat as a Child. Do some research. Dear "Ronald", as I said before, everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs. Just because someone does not pertain to a certain faith does not mean they will suffer the consequences of another entirely different set of beliefs. Don't you DARE impose what you think is right onto someone else. It comes of as Xenophobic, rude, and offensive. Speaking as a Christian myself, I know that this country was build (partially) on religious freedom, dammit!! You shouldn't go around saying that just because someone isn't Christian means that they will suffer forever--let people think what they want!!!! IN CONCLUSION: Nobody can prove or disprove the existence of GOD, only he can do that (when the time is right, anyway). Let people think what they want, it is not your job to preach to other people of a different faith. Dear "Bonnie", I am very sorry about your horse, the best you can do is wait for the ice to melt, or just heat it up manually somehow. I honestly can't give you a better answer for your second question other than go over the article again or maybe conduct some further research with a mortician. Best wishes to you, and happy Un-Birthday, "Faerie Child". :)

I totally agree with Ronald, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Alot of people go through life claiming they don't believe in God. When they are old and frail or dying from other cause like disease etc they will cry out to God to save them. The good news is he will hear their prayer and grant eternal life, it's FREE. So dont be so quick to dispute the existence of God. Heaven is real and so is hell, and those who die denying God's existence will find out that hell is very real. I'm not forcing anything on anybody, I'm just giving you the facts according to the Bible. Do what you will.

@ : Ok, I have a lot to say about this topic. First, I just want to get this out – I am an atheist. I have never once in my life gone to church, prayed, or read a single line of the Bible. I do not say "under God" in the pledge of allegiance. "almosthome," when I am on my deathbed I will certainly NOT "cry out to God to save [me]," instead I will close my eyes and drift peacefully into oblivion. I am not trying to invalidate Christianity, but I just wanted to say that. This is a free country (assuming you live in America – if you don't, sorry but I'm going to keep writing this as if you do). No one should say that anyone else's beliefs are worse than their own, or that they will be punished for not believing in a certain god. You should not present your opinions as fact, because some people believe in the Bible and some don't, and that is the only biblical fact we know for certain. Also, me being the grammar police: In the second sentence "Alot" should be "A lot." In sentence 3 you say "from other cause," which is grammatically incorrect. In sentence 5 "dont" should be "don't." I hope you don't say these things in real life. They are quite one-sided and insensitive, and they could hurt quite a few people.
